DuHope Values

In every office, our values are posted. They are referred to often to remind us who we are and what we stand for.  If we don't stand for something, we will fall for anything.

DIGNITY

We believe everyone has a right to dignity whether it is our artisans, staff, partners, or anyone we work with. All human beings deserve to be treated with dignity.

INNOVATIVE

We believe it takes innovation to create solutions to current problems. Whether it is the way we work with our artisans in helping them leave sex work, being innovative in marketing and selling our products, or the raw materials that we used to make the products. Everything we do should be innovative.

QUALITY

We believe everything should be done to the best quality and in the most efficient way.

AUTHENTIC & TRANSPARENT

We believe in authenticity and transparency in everything that we do as a trauma informed workplace. We come together and share our burdens and our excitements and we live with authenticity and transparency. In the same way, we want to do business with integrity and know that anything that we do, anybody could come in at any time and see our financials or our program model. We believe that when we are struggling, it is not a sign of weakness but a sign of growth.

COLLABORATION

We believe in the collaborative efforts of our staff and our artisans to provide the very best results in products and also life transformation. We believe in the power of collaborating with partners in the community and the goals of the country of Rwanda.

OWNERSHIP

We believe that everyone should take ownership in their job and in their personal development. We want our employees to be proud of who they are and what they're doing. For the artisans, we believe the ownership they take of their own transformation is so important. It is our job to give them skills, tools, and knowledge but it’s their responsibility to take ownership of their own life transformation.

GROWTH

We believe in everyone’s ability and capacity for growth. Whether it’s staff, artisans, or one of our partners, we all want to grow together, which has to do with the personal responsibility of everybody stepping into that new challenge together.
