Owning Our Relationships: A Foundation of Trust and Growth at DuHope
At DuHope, we believe that strong relationships—whether with colleagues, friends, family, or the women we serve—are built on trust, accountability, and care. This past month, we’ve been reflecting on what it means to take ownership of our relationships.
Taking ownership means being responsible for how we show up for others—our words, actions, and emotions. It requires honesty, open communication, and a willingness to grow together. When we take responsibility for our role in any relationship, we create deeper, more meaningful connections.
Our staff at DuHope shared how they practice ownership in their relationships:
- Felicite, our Production Manager, spoke about how she shifted her leadership approach, empowering her team by giving them more responsibilities instead of just focusing on efficiency.
- Bernice, in Production and Social Media, shared how ownership means committing to love even when relationships are difficult, prioritizing mutual care rather than self-interest.
- Jeda reflected that owning relationships helps her understand God’s plans and live in peace with others.
One of the most powerful ways we see ownership at work is through the women in our program. When they enter DuHope, they are often rebuilding trust—trust in themselves, in their future, and in the people around them. Through discipleship, job training, and a supportive community, they learn to take ownership of their healing and growth, and it transforms their lives.
Romans 12:10 reminds us:
"Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves."
This verse captures what we strive for at Belay Global and DuHope every day—choosing love, practicing accountability, and building relationships that reflect Christ’s care. Thank you for being part of this mission. Your support allows us to foster a community where women can heal, grow, and take ownership of their futures.
